What is a NSN (connection identification number) and where can I find it?
What is the NSN?
The NSN (connection identification number) plays a central role in identifying a specific telecommunications line. It is essential for correctly assigning your connection and providing services accordingly.
How to find your NSN
1In your rental contract
In some cases, the NSN is stated directly in your rental contract.
2From your previous provider
Your former telecommunications provider can also provide you with this number.
NSN not found? – Alternative methods
ABinding-ID as an alternative
The Binding-ID works similarly to the NSN and typically begins with AC0.xxx.xxx.xxx. Here's how to determine it:
- Connect an existing router to the telephone socket according to the instructions.
- Connect a computer via LAN cable or a mobile device via WiFi to the router (no active internet connection required).
- Open a web browser and try to access any website, e.g. https://www.teleboy.ch/
- If an activation message appears, send us the displayed connection identification number by email after placing your order.
⚠ Important
The activation page only appears if: the previous tenant's / provider's line has already been deactivated and a DSL line has already been transferred / used.
BInformation from previous tenant(s)
If the NSN is unknown, it may be obtained through information from previous tenants. This information can usually be obtained from your landlord or property management.
CNew connection for first occupancy or unknown previous tenant
If no previous tenant is known, it is a first occupancy, or internet was previously provided via a cable connection (UPC/Sunrise), a new connection must be established. The costs amount to approximately CHF 150.00.
Find an electrician
If you are looking for an electrician, you can find one in your area via this link: Find an electrician now
ℹ Note – New connection procedure
After your consent to the new connection, we will arrange everything and inform you of the next steps. Please only commission the electrician once you have received the confirmation and necessary technical data from us by email. The electrician is commissioned by the connection holder.
