How do I check if my device is affected by the 3G shutdown?

To keep making calls and sending SMS after the 3G shutdown, your device must support VoLTE and have it enabled.

iPhone (Apple)

  • VoLTE available from iPhone 6 onwards
  • Recommended: iOS 10 or higher
  • Check: Settings > Mobile Data > Options > Enable LTE > Voice & Data

Samsung Galaxy

  • VoLTE available from Galaxy S6 onwards
  • Check: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Enable VoLTE Calls

Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, other Android devices

  • VoLTE often supported but deactivated
  • Check: Settings > SIM & Mobile Networks > SIM > Enable VoLTE
  • Or enter *#*#86583#*#* in dialer to activate VoLTE option

Devices likely not VoLTE-compatible

  • iPhone 5/5C and older
  • Samsung Galaxy S3–S5
  • Older Huawei or Nokia models
  • Basic/Senior phones without 4G

What can I do?

  • Enable VoLTE
  • Replace your device (if necessary)
  • Request a new SIM card if yours is more than 10 years old
