Setting Up the FRITZ!Box (DSL & Fiber Optic)
A step-by-step guide for setting up your FRITZ!Box is available at teleboy.ch/setup or in the attachments at the bottom of this page.
⚠ Important
This article applies if you are using your own FRITZ!Box or the automatic configuration did not work and the red info LED is permanently lit.
Step 1: Preparation (for both connection types)
1Establish connection
Connect your computer to the FRITZ!Box using a yellow LAN cable (alternatively via WLAN).
2Open the user interface
Enter http://fritz.box/ in your browser.
3Log in
Use the password on the bottom of the box (FRITZ!Box password). Note: This is not the WLAN network key (WPA2).
Step 2: Set up fibre connection
ℹ Note
Make sure the fibre cable is plugged into slot 2 of the OTO socket. The colour of the cable does not matter.
1Access menu
Go to 'Internet' → 'Account Information'.
2Configure settings
• Provider: 'Other internet provider'
• Internet connection via: 'Fiber (Glasfaser)'
• Account information: 'No'
• VLAN settings: Enable 'Use VLAN for the internet connection' → VLAN ID 10
3Save
Click 'Apply' and wait. If the check fails: verify the fibre cable is firmly in slot 2 and protective caps have been removed.
Step 3: Set up DSL connection
1Access menu
Go to 'Internet' → 'Account Information'.
2Configure settings
• Provider: 'Other internet provider'
• Account information: 'No'
• Connection type: DHCP
• VLAN & Annex: Try first without a VLAN ID. If not connected after 2 minutes: enter VLAN ID 10 and click 'Apply' again. Also select Annex A.
3Save
Click 'Apply'. Green LED = connection successful. Red LED = failed – check cable and try with VLAN ID 10 + Annex A.
Step 4: Set up WLAN
1Select WLAN network
Select the FRITZ!Box WLAN network on your device and enter the Network Key (WPA2) as the password. You will find this on the bottom of the router.
✓ Done!
Alternatively, you can connect devices directly to the FRITZ!Box using a LAN cable.
