Does Replay Advertising also affect recordings and downloads?

Since the introduction of dynamic Replay advertising (Start-Ad, Pause-Ad, Fast-Forward-Ad) under the GT12 industry agreement, we’re often asked whether recordings and downloads are also affected. Here's what you need to know:


Recordings

Recordings are only affected if they fall within the 7-day Replay period. During this time, the same advertising formats as in regular Replay-TV apply – including automatic ad insertion.

Once a recording is older than 7 days, it’s considered “permanently stored” and is no longer subject to Replay advertising. You can then watch it without ad interruptions.


Downloads

The download feature is not affected. If you download a show, you can watch it without any Replay advertising – just like before, with no restrictions.
