Is the new skip ad function worth it for me?
Whether the Skip-Ad function is worth it for you depends on how you watch TV.
When do you probably not need Skip-Ad?
If you mainly watch public broadcasters such as SRF, ARD, ZDF, ORF or international channels outside Switzerland and Germany, you will rarely see ads in Replay mode. If you often use recordings or downloads, you probably don't need the Skip-Ad function.
When is Skip-Ad worth it?
If you enjoy watching private TV channels such as RTL, ProSiebenSat.1 or CH Media (e.g. 3+, 4+, 5+, TV24 etc.) and often use the pause or skip functions in Replay mode, Skip-Ad can save you a lot of time. With just one click, you can skip the ads and continue watching seamlessly.
Important change from autumn 2025
From autumn 2025, ads will be automatically inserted on all channels – including SRF – whenever you start, pause or fast-forward a programme. With Skip-Ad, you will still be able to enjoy your Replay programmes without these ads.
