Is the new skip ad function worth it for me?

Whether the Skip-Ad function is worth it for you depends on how you watch TV. We want to make the decision as easy as possible for you:

  • Rarely encounter Replay ads?
    If you mainly watch public broadcasters such as SRF, ARD, ZDF, ORF or international channels outside Switzerland and Germany, you will rarely see ads in Replay mode. If you often use recordings or downloads, you probably don’t need the Skip-Ad function.

  • Frequently encounter Replay ads?
    If you enjoy watching private TV channels such as RTL, ProSiebenSat.1 or CH Media (e.g. 3+, 4+, 5+, TV24 etc.) and often use the pause or skip functions in Replay mode, Skip-Ad can save you a lot of time and frustration. With just one click, you can skip the ads and continue watching seamlessly.

  • Stay flexible
    You can add or remove Skip-Ad at any time on a monthly basis – completely risk-free.


Important change from autumn 2025

Replay TV will change across Switzerland: From autumn 2025, ads will be automatically inserted on all channels – including SRF – whenever you start, pause or fast-forward a programme. This is an industry-wide agreement that all providers must follow.

With Skip-Ad, you will still be able to enjoy your Replay programmes without these ads – conveniently and without manual skipping.


In short:

  • If you rarely have Replay ads, you probably don’t need Skip-Ad.

  • If you often see ads in Replay, Skip-Ad is a convenient solution.

  • From autumn 2025, ads will be shown more frequently to all viewers – Skip-Ad remains the easy way to avoid them.
