Can I use Teleboy TV abroad or via VPN?
Teleboy TV is subject to copyright restrictions and is fully available in Switzerland and Liechtenstein only. Different rules apply abroad depending on the feature.
Quick answer: Live TV and replay are only available in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Recordings can be watched worldwide, provided they were saved in Switzerland or Liechtenstein.

In this case the player shows a message stating that live TV, replay and recordings can only be offered in Switzerland for legal reasons. On TV devices, error code 40003 is displayed.
Why is this the case?
Teleboy is not a broadcaster, it redistributes the programmes of other broadcasters. To do so, we need a licence from the rights holders, and these licences are granted country by country. Our licence covers Switzerland and Liechtenstein. For other countries, the rights holders have granted their rights to other providers.
This is not a decision made by Teleboy. We are not allowed to offer the programmes outside this territory and we are contractually obliged to enforce this technically as well. That is why we check your location based on your IP address.
What you can still use abroad
- You can watch downloaded recordings worldwide. Important: the download must have taken place in Switzerland or Liechtenstein.
- With an active Teleboy subscription, recordings older than 7 days are also accessible without downloading.
How to proceed

Live TV and replay are exclusively available in Switzerland and Liechtenstein for copyright reasons. Using Teleboy via VPN is generally not possible.
2Download your recordings before you leave
Download your recordings while you are still in Switzerland or Liechtenstein. You can then watch them worldwide on your devices.
3Countries without access to Teleboy
In some countries, a captcha must be solved when accessing Teleboy. In the following countries this is not possible. Neither the Teleboy app nor the web player are usable there: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Palestine, Russia, Belarus. This list is not exhaustive.
